THE DESIGNER

Hi, I’m Sam…

A woman wearing glasses and a black t-shirt is smiling for the camera.

My design career started at just 12 years of age when I began delving into the world of photography. This led to a Bachelor of Creative Arts with a major in photography and a minor in design which I completed in 2019, just in time for the world to shut down!

I then spent 2 years back in the hospitality industry while I worked out what I wanted to do.

In 2021 it was time to start my own business and Macqueen Media began. My focus was photography and graphic design. Website design was never on the cards, until my in-laws asked me to create a website for them. I loved the whole process so much that I wanted to do more, and it soon became the sole focus of the business.

In 2024, I felt it was time for a rebrand – my business had changed and I wanted a fresh new look. My clients were now almost exclusively from the Port Douglas region, so Port Douglas Web Designs made perfect sense as a name!

I am an avid foodie so when I’m not creating websites, you’ll normally find me playing a video game, in the kitchen cooking/baking or dining out in one of our excellent Port Douglas restaurants or cafes or spending time with my two English Cocker Spaniels.
